IDAHO FALLS, Idaho (AP) - An eastern Idaho middle school physical education teacher has been charged with having sexual contact with a 14-year-old male student.
Kari Atkinson, of Idaho Falls, teaches at Sandcreek Middle School in Ammon, which is near Idaho Falls.
The 28-year-old Atkinson faces five counts of lewd conduct with a child under 16 after making her initial court appearance Wednesday.
Atkinson's preliminary hearing is scheduled for Sept. 16.
A self-written profile of Atkinson on the school's Web page says that she was a student at Sandcreek when she was 13 and that she also now directs a youth bootcamp class for teens at an athletic club.
