Battle of the Bands: Final Underground

Boise, ID - "Battle of the Bands" is happening on FOX 12 News @ Nine this November, and Final Underground is one of 24 bands taking part. Final Underground says they're the only all-original, metal fueled, hardcore band in Boise.

"It's like a taste of everything," said Sean Padgett, with Final Underground. "We've got metal hardcore as the base, but there's thrash, speed... covers a lot of spectrums of metal."

Sean Padgett (bass), Rich Cesler (drums), Corey Hayes (vocals), Mike Clover (rhythm lead guitar), and Miguel Gomez (lead rhythm guitar) make up the mosh-pit waiting to happen. It takes a lot of energy to rock as hard as they do.

"It's like a burst, and when it's over it's like, 'I'm done'," said Hayes.

However, Final Underground is always ready for more, and they're all about performing!

"That's the most exciting thing for me, playing live, you feed off the crowd," said Cesler. "We try to put on the best show we can."

Even in a small rehearsal space you can see, and feel, the intensity. Final Underground has been together for around ten years, and they stay strong, although it can be tough.

"A second job you don't get paid for, kinda," said Clover.

For them, though, it's no big deal when you're doing what you love. Especially with guys you've known since middle school days in Meridian.

"When you're making music and kids want your autograph and buy your cd that's worth everything that goes along with it," said Clover.

"We get past the negative pretty quick and on to what's the solution," said Clover. "That helps us build a shell and keep on truckin'."
