Mountain Home, ID- High in the sky over Mountain Home are Singapore fighter planes.
Thursday was the historic inauguration of Peace Carvin V, of the Republic of Singapore Air Force, or RSAF.
They're at Mountain Home Air Force Base as part of an effort to upgrade their fleet of fighter aircraft.
They purchased new F15SG's which are the most advanced strike eagle out there.
Both countries say this strengthens our alliance, on a military and personal level.
"We're really close friends more than anything else," said Major-General NG Chee Khern, with RSAF. "We work together as a team."
"We all listen to each other, communicate, get the job done and that's what it's all about, teamwork," said Lt. Colonel Keith P. Gibson, with the USAF.
RSAF plans on training in Mountain Home for at least 20 years. There will be 250 active duty officers at all times.
Here's the bottom line on why the base was chosen...
Singapore picked it because of its extensive range complex, excellent year-round flying conditions, existing facilities, and highly trained personnel.
