
The Boy Scouts of America celebrate their 100th BirthdayBoise, Idaho - Hundreds of Boy Scouts, volunteers and family members gathered on the steps of the Idaho Statehouse on Monday, February 8th, to celebrate 100 years of Scouting in the United States.
The colorful gathering included Scouts of all ages carrying flags and Happy Birthday cards.
Eagle Scout and Idaho Attorney General Lawrence Wasden delivered a speech and asked the Scouts to always remember and live by the Scout Oath.
After Wasden's speech the gathered Scouts recited the Boy Scout Oath and sang Happy Birthday before attacking a large Birthday cake.
Many of the Scouts then toured the Statehouse for a look at the newly renovated building.
The Ore-Ida Council of the Boy Scouts of America serves over 14,000 Scouts through the efforts of over 6,500 volunteers in Southwest Idaho and Southeast Oregon.
