POTLATCH, Idaho (AP) - Authorities closed U.S. Highway 95 south of Potlatch for about half an hour Saturday after a motorist reported a bullet hit his pickup truck.
Sgt. Damon Carpenter of the Latah County Sheriff's Office says investigators determined the bullet came from an oncoming vehicle that continued driving north.
Carpenter says police in the region were alerted to look for a brown pickup truck.
He says the driver of the vehicle that was hit pulled over and called police using a cell phone.
Carpenter says the bullet entered the driver-side door but didn't go through.
