Change of Venue is Requested in Manwill Case

Posted: Updated:

Boise, Idaho -- There's more legal maneuvering in the case against Melissa Jenkins and Daniel Ehrlick, both accused of murdering 8-year-old Robert Manwill.

Now, Ehrlick's lawyer is asking for a change of venue. He says media coverage has tainted any possibility of finding an unbiased jury.  He also claims the media has released information, like sealed grand jury proceedings, that likely won't be allowed at trail.  Plus he believes there are people who feel so strongly Ehrlick is guilty and they'd lie about their past knowledge of the case just to get on the jury.

The prosecutor says the claims are just a scare tactic. The judge says she won't move the trail out of Ada County but she is still considering selecting a jury form out of the area. The next hearing is set for Aug. 19.
