Caldwell, Idaho -- The city of Caldwell has been chosen to receive an award for Excellence in Environmental Planning because of its Indian Creek Restoration Project.
It's part of the revitalization plan for downtown Caldwell, started in 2003. The city didn't even know it was being considered for the award, but a Boise planning consultant nominated Caldwell. She said leadership kept the project moving ahead amid challenges.
Caldwell is only the second city in Idaho to ever receive the award.
