Nampa, Idaho -- The sidewalks at 9th and 11th in Nampa are broken, the concrete is in pieces, and there are large holes.
"I started walking over there and I fell down and broke my lip open. I had to have about eight to 10 stitches put in there," said Rebecca Gonzalez.
That's not the only accident Gonzalez has had.
"The second time I was coming from Albertsons and I fell right here and the spot is still hasn't left," she added.
Gonzalez has complained to the city of Nampa multiple times. At one point she says she was told repairing the sidewalks was the homeowners responsibility and at another time she says she was promised action.
"I reported this over a year ago and nothing has been done about it and then they said 'Oh yes, because of you we started but they started way over there but that is not where I fell I fell over here,'" she complained.
She just wants to be able to take a walk around her neighborhood with out having to watch out for dangerous cracks in the pavement.
We spoke with Lenard Grady, the Nampa City Engineer, and he says the city realizes some of the older sidewalks are in need repair. They are fixing them on a rotation.
They have divided the city into seven areas and are offering a city managed local improvement district that helps homeowners pay to fix their sidewalks.
Gonzalez's district just must not have come up yet. She think this should have been address earlier.
