Citizens Coalition Against Placement of Canadian Wolves in Idaho

A citizens movement against the placement of Canadian wolves in Idaho is proposing an initiative to get rid of the animals.

Petitioners are out getting signatures, hoping to put the question to voters if the wolves should be removed from the Gem State. The Idaho Anti-Wolf Coalition needs to collect nearly 50,000 signatures to get on November's ballot. They say the wolves are a threat to livestock, pets and even people, not to mention big game.

"They will kill twice that many sport binge killing, then they follow the elk heards around in the spring and kill the calves as fast as they are born. We just, you know, we're not going to have any game left," Coaltion leader Ron Gillett said.

Petitions are circulating around Idaho right now for the anti-wolf initiative.
