Emmett, Idaho -- A nationwide group called Mothers Against Meth has created a film called "Crystal Meth: They Call It Ice".
The movie is showing in theaters nationwide, including here in Idaho.
It is a documentary of how meth effects the body and the brain chemistry, and it also takes a closer look at how the drug affects families.
"Dr. Holly is the founder of Mothers Against Meth. She lost her brother to meth after two years of addiction, and she goes through the psychological aspects and the biological aspects of what meth does to families and to society," said Kandice James-Calkins, the MAMA regional director.
The group hopes the film will educate parents about the skyrocketing meth problems facing our country and give families already dealing with addiction support.
"I hope they just take away that they're not alone and that there's others out there and that working together if has power," said James-Calkins.
Right now, the film is airing every Thursday at the Frontier Theater in Emmett.
It, and another film called "High is a Lie", is also being shown in schools, community centers and some jails.
