BOISE, Idaho -- A Borah High School teacher is facing up to 10 years in jail and $250,000 in fines for possessing child pornography.
Ronald Keith Neil pleaded guilty in federal court Tuesday afternoon. The 41-year-old was a former marketing teacher at Borah High. Neil was put on paid administrative leave on Sept. 5 and officially resigned on Dec. 19.
Agents found underage porn on Neil's home computer, and a school laptop. A number of images show teen-age boys that officials have been unable to identify. Officials are asking people to call 685-6674 if they think they can help with identification.
School officials are hopeful the young boys aren't Borah students, but aren't necessarily ruling it out.
Boise School District spokeperson Dan Hollar says, "When we talked to law enforcement earlier this week, they indicated to us there is no indication at this time that any of the students in the photos are Borah students, and so we'll stand by that. But is there a chance a student comes forward later? Possibly."
According to the U.S. Attorney's Office, Neil was caught through his many paid transactions on child pornography websites.
When he was arrested at his home on Sept. 5, they say Neil was in the middle of downloading an illegal video.
His sentencing is scheduled for May 14.
