Ron Paul Visits Boise

Posted:

Boise, Idaho -- If you're still up in the air about who to vote for in the upcoming presidential elections, you may want to hold off on your decision for another week.

Idaho will host Republican presidential candidate Ron Paul as he continues campaigning throughout the U.S. Local Paul supporters are highly anticipating the candidate's visit to the Treasure Valley next week, even while his numbers remain few, their spirits remain high.

"As far as I'm concerned, there's three Democrats and Ron Paul running," said Blayne Sukut.

He isn't the only one expectantly waiting for the arrival of what he feels is the only truly Republican presidential candidate. Dr. Ron Paul, a U.S. Representative from Texas, is no stranger to politics. He's been around nearly 30 years, and is described as a fierce constitutionalist, conservative, and a libertarian.

"We're quite excited about Ron Paul's visit. There's a lot of Idahoans that are quite intrigued with this man, and really looking forward to his visit," said volunteer county coordinator John Blattler.

But as the elections get closer, it's safe to say, the likelihood of a presidential bid for Paul is not looking too good. According to his supporters, even if he doesn't make it into office, it's his message that really matters.

"We have a message to put across and it's not necessarily about Ron Paul this is a message that's gonna carry forward for a lot of years to come so if he's not successful in getting the nomination we still have a message there to present," said Blattler.

"Yeah it's a long shot, we admit that it's a long shot, but we have a message to go this isn't something that's going to die a couple months after everything's all over, Ron Paul has started a real movement back to the vision of our founding fathers, our freedoms, and our constitution," said Sukut.

This will be Paul's second try for a Presidential candidacy. His first attempt was in 1988, he placed a remote third place. According to his backers, even if this second try doesn't pan out, perhaps the third time's the charm.

"If he decides to run again in 2012, I'll support him again," said Sukut.

If you would like to attend, the Texas congressman, he will be speaking at the Jewett Auditorium at the College of Idaho in Caldwell next Friday, April 25, at 4 p.m.
