Family Rescued After Falling into the Boise River

Boise, Idaho -- There were some scary moments on the Boise River Sunday when a child, mother and grandmother were thrown from their raft into the water.

The accident happened around 1 p.m. near the Parkcenter Bridge.

Onlookers were so concerned by the struggling group that search and rescue was called out. The situation ended positively, as good Samaritans helped the victims to safety.

According to Boise River Volunteers, who regularly travel the river pulling out stranded floaters, this type of accident happens all too often.

"I'm new to Boise River Volunteer. I've been out two times and seen no less than five water rescues," said Ken Clabaugh, with the Boise River Volunteers.

The Boise River Volunteers ask floaters to be prepared before getting in the water. Anyone who falls in is advised to float on their back, feet first, with the current until they can reach the shore.
