Everclear Lead Singer Art Alexakis Rocks a Message of Activism

Posted:

Boise, Idaho -- Rocking the masses with a message.

Portland-based rock band Everclear is in Boise, gearing up for their show at the Knitting Factory Wednesday night. Everclear is perhaps best known for songs like "Santa Monica," "Father of Mine" and "Wonderful."

Lead singer Art Alexakis is pushing 50 years old but he is still making music that strikes a chord with fans of all ages. And he also inspires others to make a difference in their own communities.

"It shouldn't be done as a chore. It's like voting or being active in your community. I don't think it even should be something people even bring up. It should just be something that you do," said Alexakis.

He believes in activism so much he served as a delegate from the city of Portland in his adopted home state of Oregon at the 2004 Democratic National Convention.

If you'd like to see Everclear, they hit the stage at the Knitting Factory at about 9:45 p.m. Wednesday and tickets are still available. They also have a new song on the charts called "At the End of the Day."
