BOISE, Idaho (AP) - A man has pleaded guilty to ramming his pickup into two Idaho State Police motorcycle officers.
David P. Turnovec, of Buhl, pleaded guilty Thursday to a felony charge of battery on a police officer.
In exchange for the guilty plea, prosecutors dropped two other charges.
His sentencing is scheduled for April 22.
Prosecutors say Turnovec on Oct. 22 intentionally ran into the two officers parked along Interstate 84 near Boise because he was upset about getting ticketed by Boise police earlier that day.
Both officers were injured. One has yet to return to his job.
Turnovec's attorney said his client is paranoid schizophrenic and was not taking his medication at the time of the crash.
