
HOUSTON (AP) - As Associated Press calculation shows that Marathon Oil Corp. paid its president and chief executive officer $6.6 million in 2009, 21 percent less than in 2008.
An analysis of a March 8 filing by the Houston oil company with the Securities and Exchange Commission shows Clarence P. Cazalot Jr., 59, received a base salary of $1.4 million, a bonus of $2.1 million, other compensation of $225,403 and stock and option awards the company valued at $2,845,791 on the day they were granted.
By the same measure, her received $8,344,077 the year before.
The AP's pay calculations sometimes produce totals different from what companies list in the summary compensation table of proxy statements filed with the SEC.
